Bulk Rostering vs. Clever Secure Sync

Getting students into the system is the first step to getting them started in Roadmaps. We offer two ways to enroll students. The first option is via Bulk Rostering which can be found in your portal. The second option is through Clever Secure Sync. This article will discuss each option to help you decide which option works best for your school.

Things to consider when choosing a rostering option.

• If you have a small implementation of Roadmaps (less than 100 students), it may be quicker to use our Bulk Rostering option.
• If your students are accustomed to using Clever to access other apps, using Clever Secure Sync may improve access and engagement with Roadmaps.
• If your school does not use the Clever dashboard for students, it may be more work to set it up for Roadmaps than to use our Bulk Rostering option directly in the portal.

Using Bulk Rostering

1. Navigate to the Classes & Rosters page and click the “Bulk Roster via CSV” button, OR choose a class and select the “Bulk Roster via CSV” button on the left. ** Please note that you will need to create at least one class before you can bulk roster. 2. Download the template CSV file and follow the instructions on the first page to fill in your student’s information.
3. Upload your CSV file and correct any errors by clicking directly in the fields. The eye icon indicates a duplicate record, while the exclamation icon indicates an error in formatting. 
4. Once your errors are corrected, you will be able to proceed to confirm your roster. 

Once students have been enrolled using these steps, students can log in to Roadmaps by either using SSO or the password you set for them. 

Using Clever Secure Sync to Roster

Clever Secure Sync allows schools to enroll and roster students from their SIS (“Student Information System” like PowerSchool) via Clever. 

**Please make sure all users that need to be synced have email addresses in their Clever profiles. If the email field is empty, our system will not be able to correctly sync their accounts.**

To start the sync process: 

1. Network or Site administrators add our app to their Clever dashboard. 
2. Network or Site administrators set sharing permissions to share students' information with us in their Clever portal. Make sure you are only sharing the students and staff who need to be enrolled in Roadmaps - oversharing students may result in overages on your license count, causing extra charges. 
3. Submit this form to finalize your request for Clever Secure Sync to Roadmaps. Our team will review the request and approve via Clever once it’s ready to go!

**Please note that any changes to student information must be done through Clever and then the change will be synced to our database.**
